way of Salvation

Salvation begins with God the Father who desires a personal relationship with us, that for which He created us.

But there is a problem.

Because all are born with a bias towards sinning, we all sin, which places a barrier between us and God, making it impossible for us to have this relationship with a Holy God.

As the Bible says in Romans 3:23 ‘ All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ‘ And again in Isiah 59:2 ‘ Your iniquities have come between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you.’

Thankfully God has Himself provided a remedy for this problem.

In our fallen state we cannot bridge this barrier ourselves, but God, who the Bible says ‘is rich in mercy ‘, has done this for us by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come as a man and die a substitutionary death on our behalf. The Bible says ‘ the wages of (our) sin is death ‘ and that ‘ Christ suffered once for our sins, the just for the unjust, to bring us to God’. ( Romans 6:23, 1peter 3:18).

This relationship which the Bible also calls ‘ Eternal life ‘ is now made available to all.

‘ For God so loved the world He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life ‘ ( John 3:16 ) ‘ Now all of us may come to God the Father because of what Christ has done for us. ‘( Ephesians 2:18 )

To enter into this relationship ( ie eternal life, ) it is not enough to merely believe Gods’ promise of mercy, We must recieve it by faith.

This salvation though it cost God dearly, is offered freely as a gift to us all, and must be personally recieved, it cannot be earned.

‘For by grace ( ie Gods unmerited favour ) you have been saved through faith . And this is not of your own doing it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that none may boast.’ ( Ephesians 2:8,9 ). ‘ If we confess our sins, He ( Jesus ) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.’ ( 1John 1:9 )

You can begin this exiting relationship with Jesus Christ today by trusting God and praying a prayer like this:-

Dear God, I recognise that I am a sinner who needs salvation, and understand that I cannot save myself. I choose to repent of my sin and believing that Christ died for me, I ask Him to forgive my sins and become my Lord and Saviour.

‘ To all who recieved Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to be become children of God.’ ( John 1:12 ) ‘ As you therefore have recieved Christ Jesus the Lord, So walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith ‘. ( Colossians 2:6 ).
